Jake Rosholt (6-2), four-time All American and three-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion out of Oklahoma State University (OSU), was released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) yesterday following his Nov. 21 submission loss to Kendall Grove.
Rosholt announced the news via his official Twitter account.
He turned pro about two years ago and had gone undefeated in his first five fights, including his World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) debut against Nissen Osterneck. Despite the win, Rosholt did not appear comfortable on his feet, eating several knuckle sandwiches and looking as if he could be stopped. However, he weathered the storm and capitalized with a technical knockout shortly after Osterneck punched himself out.
The win was good enough to get him a crack at the big boys in the UFC, where he locked horns with Dan Miller at UFC Fight Night 17 back in February…
